Advocacy Engagement with Stakeholders on Albinism Issue in South Eastern Nigeria

The Albinos Foundation state chapters in the south east (Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo) has commenced a massive engagement with relevant stakeholders such as Ministries of Education, Health, Women Affairs & Social Development Justice and that of Nigeria Police. The import of the advocacy engagement is to ensure that the rights of persons with albinism in the Zone is promoted, protected, defended and enforced. In addition, the advocacy engagement is to ensure that persons with albinism have access to social services such as health, education, employment etc. This will further reduce stigmatization, discrimination, rejection and sometimes brutal killings experienced by the albinism community. We want to thank the various Ministries for their willingness to support the cause of albinism in their respective states.
