The Albino Foundation Honoured by TRANS-African Students’ Initiative (TRASI)
On August 23rd, 2017, The Albino Foundation and the founder/CEO was honoured by TRANS-African Students’ Initiatives (TRASI) with an award as “Icon of Nation Building and Human Empowerment in Nigeria and Africa’s Patriot Personality Award”. The award was in recognition of the foundation’s tremendous effort towards the promotion and protection of the rights of persons with albinism in Nigeria and Africa in general.
TRASI is a Pan-Africa Development Driven Initiative birthed by the resolutions of the All Africa’s Students Union 3rd Annual Youth/Students Summit held in 2012, tasking the upcoming generations on contributing vehemently to the development of Africa as a Continent. TRASI Africa has since inception achieved her constituted aims and objectives by building, training and encouraging the teeming youths and students via taking part in and also organising programmes and projects all over Africa.
As part of her schedule of events annually, TRASI take out time to encourage individuals and organisations worthy of emulation that have shown exceptional contributions to Africa’s quest for sustainable development in diverse capacities over the years by honouring them with awards.
The Founder/CEO of the Foundation thanked the Students body for taken out time to recognise and honour the foundation on its contribution to humanity. He assured them that the foundation will continue to do her best towards improving the lives of the vulnerable groups in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large.
The award was witnessed by Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) who covered the programme.
