The Disability Rights Fund (DRF), a grant making organization for persons with disabilities, based in the United States sanctioned a grant for a project on ‘Disability Inclusion’ to be implemented by The Albino Foundation in Osun state for a period of twelve (12) months (September 2021 – August 2022).

This 12-month project seeks to influence policies and programs in Osun state towards promoting inclusion and mainstreaming of disability for equal access to services and interventions, including in the context of COVID-19. This is in line with CRPD[1] Article 13 (Access to justice) and 25 (Health); and SDG[2] Goals 3 (Health) and 16 (Peace, justice, and strong institutions).

The main objective of this project is to increase and improve access to quality education, health and justice system in government agencies for the wellbeing of persons with disabilities in Osun state while the expected outcome at the end of the project is that the key officers of Ministry of justice, health and education in Osun state would have informed understanding of disability inclusion; provided accessible and inclusive justice, health and education services and programs for Persons with disabilities in the state.

In order to ensure effective implementation on the project in the state, the Foundation will be partnering with Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Ministry of Education, Health and Justice and other relevant stakeholders in Osun state.
